이지 부스트 350 V2 ‘이스라필’ & '아즈리엘'이 무슬림 사회에서 논란이 되고 있다?

최근 국내에도 공식 발매 소식이 전해졌던 이지 부스트 350 V2 ‘이스라필’ 및 이지 부스트 350 V2 ‘아즈리엘‘이 무슬람 사회에서 논란이 되고 있다. 두 스니커의 모델명이 이슬람교의 종교적 배경과 연관이 되어 있기 때문. ‘이스라필’은 트럼펫을 불며 부활의 날을 알리는 대천사의 이름을 뜻하는 반면, ‘아즈리엘’은 이슬람에서 죽음의 천사로 통한다. 이러한 이름에 얽힌 스토리 때문에 현재 무슬람 사회에서는 두 스니커를 상대로 보이콧 청원까지 일고 있다. 일부 사람들은 이러한 이지의 모델 작명법이 이슬람을 완전히 무시하는 행위라고 언급하기도 했다.

스니커 모델명에 종교와 관련된 이름이 사용된 것은 이번이 처음은 아니다. 하지만 SNS 상에서는 이번 일을 계기로 운동화 제작에 있어 종교적 요소는 배제되어야 한다는 의견이 제시되고 있다.
