Hypebeast Cup 2026 Makes Its Tokyo Debut at MIFA Football Park

Hypebeast, the leading global platform for contemporary culture and lifestyle, successfully concluded Hypebeast Cup Tokyo 2026 on June 7 at MIFA Football Park Toyosu, Tokyo. Following the event’s debut in Shanghai earlier this year, Tokyo marked the second stop of Hypebeast Cup. Held in the lead-up to the 2026 FIFA World Cup, the single-day event brought together 16 teams representing brands, creative studios, select shops, and community collectives, uniting competitive 5-on-5 football with a curated program of cultural activations, music, and community experiences.

Each team competed in custom uniforms designed to reflect the identity and aesthetic of their respective community, showcasing an array of color palettes, typography and emblems. An on-site exhibition displayed all 16 kits together, offering a collective portrait of the creative cultures that converged at Toyosu for the occasion.

After group-stage and elimination rounds featuring all 16 teams, nonnative claimed the inaugural Hypebeast Cup Tokyo championship, defeating PAT MARKET in the finals. Following the final, the champions took part in a special exhibition match against love.fútbol Japan, an organization dedicated to ensuring no child is denied access to football due to economic hardship, featuring current and former professionals including Koji Miyoshi (VfL Bochum), Manabu Saito, and Akihiro Ienaga. The match ended in a draw, a fitting result that reflected the spirit of community and shared passion for the game that defined the entire event.

At the closing ceremony, the nonnative team received a bespoke trophy conceived by Mizuno as a reinterpretation of the iconic Morelia football boot, as well as an unreleased G-SHOCK DW-6900CF. The PAT MARKET team received DIESEL sunglasses as runners-up, while the FC MONICA team was awarded New Era caps in third place. MVP honors went to Jin from PAT MARKET, with the Most Impressive Player award presented to Ritsu Kashiwazaki from Hender Scheme, the tournament’s youngest competitor, a fifth-grade primary school student whose composure and ability drew widespread admiration.

Pitchside, presenting partner Mizuno hosted a dedicated football booth, making their lifestyle silhouette Morelia LS available for on-site purchases. Kinetics operated a pop-up space presenting event-exclusive T-shirts and merchandise, while SUPPLY / BACKDOOR curated a customization workshop that featured special designs created by Mizuno for the event, and original graphics by artists Ken Kengami, face oka, and D.O.X. The venue’s entrance was anchored by a large G-SHOCK clock monument alongside an LED scoreboard by LED TOKYO, which displayed live results and bracket updates throughout the day.

In addition, a HAY chill area provided a relaxed space for attendees to unwind between matches. The food area featured Human Nature, Gallo, BAGGAGE, and Pizzeria Carlino’s, while a music program ran continuously throughout the day, led by a diverse lineup of DJs spanning the fashion, music, and creative communities. The event closed with a freestyle football performance by selfFab. and MONSTER BALLAZ (MBZ), followed by an after-party hosted by JOMMY & YAMATO.

Hypebeast Cup Tokyo 2026 embodies the potential of the modern football scene, a space where sport, fashion, music, art, and community converge. The energy and stories born here will transcend the final whistle, transforming into a lasting cultural movement that will carry forward to the next Hypebeast Cup.
